Different Responses You Can Have To A Homeopathic Remedy
Homeopathic remedy responses: how to decide what you should do next.

Have you ever taken a homeopathic remedy and wondered what to do next? The answer to that question depends on the response to the remedy, and this is where people usually start guessing.
There are three choices:
Take more
Try something else
Wait
But guessing which one of these things to do next can make things more confusing.
First, I’d like to start by saying that if you’re working with a homeopath, they should be giving you guidance on how to proceed with your remedy administration, especially in chronic cases.
However, if you’re self-treating, start by asking yourself:
How am I feeling right now?
One of the first signs that a homeopathic remedy is working is that you start to generally feel better. This means you might not notice your actual symptoms improve (although they likely will if this is how your body is responding), but you feel better overall and better “in your body”. This shift often comes before symptoms start to improve. If this is the response you are having, it's likely that the current remedy you are taking is a good fit.
Sometimes, you’ll notice an improvement (whether it is significant or subtle). If this happens, then wait. You can wait a few minutes or hours (this would depend on the potency you selected as well as the intensity of the illness you’re trying to take care of), or you can take the same remedy again once your symptoms come back.
If you have taken the remedy 2-3 times (depending on the potency/illness) and haven't noticed an improvement, then it is likely time to reassess. You might need a different potency, or even a different remedy altogether. If you're unsure of what improvement looks like, you can read my blog post about that here.
If your symptoms change, reassess with the new symptoms included because this may mean that you need to use a different remedy.
But what happens if your symptoms worsen? This could potentially be a proving or an aggravation. Proving symptoms are symptoms that can develop from taking a homeopathic remedy. An aggravation is a healing response that occurs when symptoms temporarily get worse, then are followed by improvement. While an aggravation is a healing response, it is still preferable to avoid them, and there are some techniques that can be used to avoid an aggravation, one of which is making a water remedy. If your symptoms do worsen, it is best to pause the remedy and reassess (after a few to 24 hours).
Knowing what reactions to look for will help you respond appropriately and reacting too quickly makes it more difficult to understand what your body is telling you.
The goal isn't to guess what you should do next, but to understand your body's response to the remedy so you know what to do next. The more you know what to look for, the easier it becomes to know whether to wait, repeat, or reassess - without second guessing the next step.
